2018 Nicolas Paget Touraine Jajavanaise
Varietal/Blend: Cabernet Franc, Grolleau
Jajavanaise is a Touraine rouge from one of the region’s most progressive vignerons. With organic vineyards producing Gamay, Malbec and Cabernet Franc, each is vinified separately before contributing to the blend. By use of the same low-intervention wine making that the domain is renowned for, Jajavanaise is made in a fresh, lively style to showcase the approachability of the area and its wines.
Jajavanaise is immediately expressive, showing red and blackcurrants, boysenberry and some faint liquorice on the nose. Soft supple tannins are given added depth by blackcurrant fruit and a savoury chariness to round off. ‘Jaja’ is colloquial, meaning the wine that you drink readily.
