The Local Drop Top 6
These are the top 6 bottles we would take if we were stranded on a desert island (and had to choose 6 for under $300!)
Something for everyone here – or every mood – each bottle a cracker.
2018 Mount Horrocks Rosé
Surprisingly textured and long, with cleansing acidity to round out a generously fruity palate – crisp and crunchy, vibrant red berry fruits, appealing floral notes and a lovely citrus edge. A serious Rosé to enjoy through the summer months.
2019 Grosset Polish Hill Riesling
It is powerful, multi-layered and richly concentrated. Subtle yet distinct floral aromatics of violets and lavender, lemon and lime blossom perfumes that persist. Intense, lime juice flavours and a fine linear structure.
2017 Domaine Cady ‘Cheninsolite’ Anjou
A dry, refreshing Chenin Blanc. Ripe with intense flavours of apple, lemon, honey, mineral and creamy oak.
2017 Gembrook Hill Estate Pinot Noir
Delicate perfumed fragrance, fruity but fine. On the palate elegant strawberry cherry fruit combines with a surprising powerful forest floor palate and ends in a long velvety finish.
2017 Jean Foillard Morgon Côte du Py
Considered by many as the Beaujolais benchmark ahiling from a famous vineyard and legendary producer. Foillard’s rendition captures the wild cherry, mineral, and floral-tinged quality of the vineyard in an unparalleled way. Full of flavor and very easy drinking with raspberries and cherries. Foillard weaves silk into the texture and leaves a wine with haunting persistence and fragrance.
2013 Wanted Man Shiraz
A medium-bodied shiraz, Wanted Man Shiraz is fresh and uncomplicated, with the hallmarks of the region. The liquorice and red fruit notes are tempered by hints of earth and a savoury finish.
