How much is delivery?

The Local Drop charges a flat $12.50 per delivery fee within Australia for all orders under $500 of four bottles or more. Any orders of 3 bottles or less (totalling less than $500) will be charged a shipping fee of $9.50. All orders that total $500 or more will receive free shipping within Australia. All international delivery fees are calculated on where you are ordering from and will be inclusive of all duties and taxes.

Is my order insured?

For sure. Your order is insured against loss and breakage. Please note that freight companies will not recognise claims that have been signed for or left unattended where an authority to leave the wine has been given. If you suspect breakage simply hand the box back to the driver and do not sign for it. We will issue a replacement and re-delivery at our cost.

What about if I won’t be home?

All deliveries are made during business hours so places of work or business hours addresses are the most favoured destinations. Failing that, we ask that you leave additional instructions if no one is home, such as “leave at back door” or “OK to leave on front porch”. If there is no one home and no instruction, the courier will leave a card to say she/he has been and ask you contact them to arrange re-delivery or collect wine from a Parcel Collect depot or a PO Box (we do not offer PO Box delivery to all areas).

Will the driver call before delivery?

As a rule, couriers will not call prior to delivery so we ask that this not be requested to avoid disappointment. By request, we can email you on dispatch so that you can expect a delivery.

How long does delivery usually take?

We do our very best to get your order processed and dispatched as soon as we receive it. Once with the courier delivery, times are usually as follows: Melbourne same day, Sydney next day, Adelaide 2 days, Brisbane 3 days, Tasmania 4 days, Perth 5 days, Northern Territory 7 days. If you need your order sooner, please call us on 1800 903 885 or contact us so we can discuss the options.

Can I request a specific time for delivery?

Our freight companies quote business hours delivery. As we outsource deliveries globally, we are unable to accept orders conditional on a specific date or time. While every endeavour will be made to have deliveries occur at a requested time, this cannot be guaranteed.
By request we are able to delay dispatch of an order to ensure it does not arrive before a specific date. Further, by request, we can email you on dispatch so that you can expect a delivery.

Is there anywhere in Australia not serviced?

Some areas that are extremely warm all year around (Northern Territory and North WA) and some extremely remote areas are not serviced.
