2017 Montfin Rosé

Corbieres, France

$28.00

Winemaker: Jerome Esteve
Vineyard/Year: Montfin / 2017
Being poured at: Post Office Hotel

An engineer and an accountant, father and son Raymond and Jérôme Esteve purchased the Montfin property from its bankrupt owners in 2001, having fallen immediately in love with the estate’s stunning setting on the lagoon of Peyriac-de-Mer.

Searching for further rosé styles of flesh and texture, this is a variation on the Provence theme. A red fruited palate swimming in Jonathan apple skins, cranberries, citrus and Campari notes with some mouth filling phenolic richness, steered into drying balance by a long gravelly, gritty finish.

Tasting notes

2017's release sees a slightly finer expression, ultra appealing and refreshing. Pairs beautifully with spicy cuisine such as Thai, rich enough even to do battle with Indian curries.
