A field selection of 85 year old and 17 year old vines, from a parcel straddling the border between Castiglione Falletto and Monforte D Alba (Bussia cru), near the town of Barolo in Piemonte, Italy. East and west exposure, altitude 230-255 m.
Grapes were hand harvested and hand sorted on September 29, 2011. Fermented and macerated on skins. Aged a traditional 3 years in one 30 HL bottle of neutral Slavonian oak.
