2024 Deep Woods Estate Chardonnay fruit was sourced from across the Margaret River region for this delightfully complex yet eminently drinkable wine. Fermentation was carried out using wild yeast and the wine was left to mature on lees for six months in new and seasoned French oak imparting great texture and length.
This wine displays juicy white peach flavours with an underlying citrus freshness. This is a medium bodied Chardonnay with vibrant notes of candied lime peel and rich roasted cashews.
2024 was one of the earliest vintages ever seen in Margaret River. Consistently warm and dry conditions allowed for exceptional fruit ripeness and flavours with a very well-balanced natural acidity for such a hot year. Extensive marri blossom meant pest pressure in the vineyard was minimal. The quality of fruit is fantastic and 2024 has produced some very exciting wines with flavour definition and structure.
